Today I decided to invite some friends over to see her as-is. The reaction was overwhelmingly positive! I think only us extreme nerds will notice that it's not even close to screen accurate. That's encouraging, because while I'd love to eventually make it much better, I can still drive it around and improve it slowly once I get it running.
I didn't have much time to actually work on her tonight. I did take some pictures that I'll be uploading later.

Day #1
Welcome to the first ever posting on Delorean #2930's restoration. I'll mostly be covering what I'm doing to her.
Today was day 1 of restoration/updating. Here's what I did:
- Helped unload her from the truck, and stored her in the auto bay at my local hackerspace
- Looked her over. The frame looks good so far, no signs of rust, etc.
- Cleaned the exterior. Nothing serious, just making her look better
- Removed the passenger side door panel (with the door closed. that was not easy...)
- Got the latch mechanism working enough to open/close the passenger door
- Charged the battery
The list of parts I know I need so far:
- Exterior Door handle (passenger side. I may have to get a pair)
- Door struts
- Trunk struts
The big unveiling is tomorrow night. I've invited some friends over to see how she looks now. After that, I'll probably be temporarily removing the props so that I can get better access to the engine bay and electrical system.
Things that make me sad:
The binnacle was PERFECT, until they put two screws in it. Ugh. I could've sold that and otherwise and put the money back into the restoration :)
I'll post more photos after the unveiling.
